Every Dollar Counts
You helped us fill our
cup of hope!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our end of the year campaign!
Thanks to you, we raised more than an incredible $33,000 toward our goal of $44,000 this holiday season - and the donations are still coming in!
This money will go toward funding childhood cancer research searching for better treatments and cures for all children with cancer.
Learn more about how your donation helps.
Although the campaign was dedicated to our childhood cancer hero, Ishani Sathianathan who recently marked her 3-year cancer free anniversary, please know that your generosity helps all children in the fight against childhood cancer.
THANK YOU!
Meet Ishani.
Ishani Sathianathan is a typical 10-year-old girl who has already braved some not-so-typical experiences for someone her age. The little girl with the radiant smile has beat cancer not just once, but twice in her short lifetime.
When Ishani was 3-years-old, she fell off the monkey bars. As her parents checked for bumps and bruises, they found a hard lump on her calf. They never imagined that the lump would not be a result of the fall, but instead Stage 3 rhabdomyosarcoma - cancer. 42 weeks of chemotherapy and 4 weeks of radiation followed, but the treatment appeared to have worked and Ishani was in remission.
A year and a half later, Ishani's mom found another lump on Ishani. Tests confirmed her family’s worst fear – the cancer was back. This time there was no treatment protocol. Her doctor's relied on insight gained from ongoing pediatric cancer research studies to guide them on a treatment plan.
Once again, Ishani braved chemotherapy, surgery and radiation and was declared in remission - again. Earlier this month, Ishani received an early holiday gift - her scans were clear marking 3-years of being in remission.
ASLF dedicated our 2012 holiday ornament to Ishani.

The ornament is inspired by a lemonade stand created by her family during the Red Poppy Festival Parade in her hometown and is a meaningful reminder that every dollar counts in the fight against childhood cancer. Ornaments are still available for purchase!
