Jamestown NY, Ryan & Alex's Lemonade Stand

July 21, 2007
10:00am - 3:00pm Rain or Shine

A note from Ryan’s parents:

Hello! This will be a quick post because we are so busy with the Lemonade Stand this Saturday. It's really going to be great!

Mostly, I want to thank the whole community for helping us! Applebee's donated "Alex's" menus & cups, gift certificates, and even treated us to a yummy dinner. Auntie Anne's, Ryan's favorite snack, donated a pretzel kit and mugs to raffle.

Allen Park Women's Club sold lemonade at their concert tonight, raising $152 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation! They even donated the rest of the homemade fudge to have at our stand. What a great group of ladies! And I haven't even paid my annual dues!

City councilwoman Kim Ecklund told me about a group of motorcyclists rasing money for hospice. At one of their check points this Saturday, hospice is going to have a lemonade stand. Now I hope we never need hospice services anytime soon, but isn't that nice!

Quality has been superb! They are selling paper lemons for Alex's Foundation and have raised well over $1000 in just a few days! Most of the employees are wearing yellow "Alex" shirts too. They will be selling paper lemons for $1 until July 29 so stop by at the Foote Ave. store. Quality also donated a huge RC hummer to raffle and Rainbow stuffed bears to sell. Then Mgr. Steve Peroski called his vendors. Pepsi donated a 15 speed bike and Coke donated a tennis racket to raffle. Country Time donated lemonade. Frito-Lay donated salty snacks to make y'all thirsty and Pepperidge Farm, Keebler, and Little Debbie donated sweets. Perry's is donating ice cream and the list goes on! Thank you from the bottom of our heart, Quality Markets. You're aiming the big guns at childhood cancer!!!!

Jamestown Container delivered cardboard for the fishing game. Chautaqua Sign and Firedancer Sign are donating banners. Office Max donated a huge amount of laminating for signs. Jo-Ann Crafts gave us a discount on crafts. And McDonald's is giving us coupons, napkins and cups.

A sweet lady names Sharon at Southside Pharmacy gave Ryan and Henry each a Webkinz. Ryan has a new pet lion named Lenny and Henry has a Chihuahua name Chico. The boys are thrilled!

We are simply overwhelmed with this Community’s generosity, plus that of countless individuals. Thanks to John Whittaker for the great articles in this Sunday's front page of the Post-Journal. Thanks also to Lee John for interviewing me and doing public service announcements promoting the stand. And thanks to those I forgot to thank!

Well this short post is now a long post and I better get back to work.

See you all at the Lemonade Stand Saturday from 10-3pm. It's sure to be grand!

Love and many thanks,

Kim and Henry
