OPERATION MOM DECLARES WAR ON CHILDHOOD CANCER
OpMom.com, the country’s fastest-growing online network for moms,
has partnered with us to help fight childhood cancer. OpMom.com will donate
one dollar ($1.00 USD) for each new website member through June 30, 2007,
up to $10,000.
OpMom.com combines innovative health and family organizational tools
with a free online social networking community for moms. OpMom members
can manage their family’s medical information & create wellness
reminders, plus organize and share their favorite travel itineraries,
recipes, party plans and more. Inventive local community features allow
moms to refer local service providers, plus stay in touch using the local
“HeadsUp” broadcast feature. Moms can also create “MomCircle”
groups, which can be invite-only or open to all members.
For OpMom.com CEO Carrie Pacini, cancer has hit close to home. Her husband
is a melanoma survivor, which was a wake-up call for this mother-of-two.
“The OpMom community is about moms supporting each other through
the challenges they face in their daily operation,” said Pacini.
“When we were dealing with my husband’s cancer, my support
system of other moms and cancer survivors was invaluable. Knowing Alex
Scott’s amazing story, and how her legacy still impacts mothers
and families so deeply, we couldn’t think of a more worthwhile and
fitting cause for our online community to support. And with a goal of
up to 10,000 new members, we hope to really spread awareness with this
campaign.”
We are proud to be associated with this positive use of an online network.
It is also a natural fit to partner with moms everywhere to find a cure
for all children with cancer.
