Home » Blog

An easy and meaningful way to “Go Gold” during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September is to harness the power of your personal social media. Don’t know where to start? Well, we’ve got everything you need to “Go Gold” on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Each September, we “Go Gold” in honor of children fighting, in memory of children who have fought and with hope that the children who will be diagnosed with cancer will find a cure. Raising awareness is key to raising funds and finding a cure. We have all the social media tools you need to raise awareness all September long. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Follow Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for inspiring childhood cancer hero stories, news about upcoming events and updates throughout Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
  2. Update your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts with our ready-made graphics perfect for your profile, cover and banner images. You can also share the graphics. Snag our Childhood Cancer Awareness images on our downloads page here.
  3. Hashtag your posts! Share why you will “Go Gold” this September with #CCAM (for childhood cancer awareness month) and/or #Journey2aMillion (in honor of Alex’s Million Mile event this September).
  4. Share the facts about Childhood Cancer with our infographic.
  5. Add a Gold Ribbon to your Twitter and Facebook profile pictures automatically through Twibbon. Just click here and follow the easy instructions to add a gold ribbon to your picture for September and beyond!
