YMCA Adventure Guides and Princesses of Northeast Florida

Jacksonville, Florida

Visit fundraising page for more details On May 21, 2011, Publix Supermarkets throughout Jacksonville, Florida were taken over by Alex’s Lemonade Stands! The lemonade stands in Jacksonville originated when the Rak family decided to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer after their daughter Lina battled the disease. Though the Raks have since moved, the YMCA Adventure Guides and Princesses continue what they started. Lemonade for the stands has graciously been donated by Pepsi.  The YMCA Adventure Guides and Princesses have been able to raise nearly $54,000 since 2006!

Henry’s Hustle 

Maugansville, MD

Visit fundraising page for more details On May 21, Maugansville Elementary School hosted a 1-mile run and carnival titled “Henry’s Hustle.” Henry’s Hustle, which has been taking place for several years, is held in memory of childhood cancer fighter Henry Scheck. The event has already raised nearly $32,000, and in 2011 was designated as an ALSF Grand Stand!  The Henry’s Hustle Team hoped to raise at least $5,000 in 2011 in support of the fight against childhood cancer, and surpassed that goal by raising over $6,800!

Rissolo Family Grand Stand for Enzo 

San Diego, CA

Visit fundraising page for more details On May 21 & 22, 2011, the Rissolo Family hosted their annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Grand Stand in loving memory of their son Lorenzo “Enzo” Rissolo. At the age of sixteen months, Lorenzo not only fought childhood cancer, but inspired hope that one day the suffering of those in similar circumstances could end.  Since 2006, the Rissolo Family has raised over $55,000!

Kansas City Area Alex's Lemonade Grand Stands

Kansas City, MO

Visit fundraising page for more details On June 3 & 4, 2011, residents of the Kansas City metro area showed their support for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation by hosting lemonade stands throughout the community.  Local businesses, families and community groups, in association with Hy-Vee, and The Kansas City Royals raised awareness and funds in the battle against childhood cancer through their stands.  Last year, the Kansas City efforts surpassed the $500,000 raised mark in just 5 years!

Gloria Nilson Realtors Grand Stand

Shrewsbury, NJ

Visit fundraising page for more details Gloria Nilson Realtors also joined us as a first year Grand Stand, holding their annual event on Saturday, June 4!  In past years, Gloria Nilson Realtors have held large lemonade stand events, raising over $46,000!  This year, they planned to raise another $5,000 while honoring cancer fighter Graysen McDow. This Grand Stand featured lemonade, hot dogs, Herr’s snacks, pony rides, face painting, children’s games, music, fun photo portraits and more!

Visit fundraising page for more details On June 4, 2011, the Huscroft Family and Friends hosted their seventh annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Grand Stand. Hosting stands throughout Portage and Summit County, and even one in the state of Georgia, the community has raised over $108,000 in 7 years! The Huscroft family began holding their lemonade stands after hearing the story of Alexandra “Alex” Scott at the Kentucky Derby in 2005. With four healthy children at home, the family was thankful for their good fortune, but wanted to get involved. They have been coordinating successful community-wide events ever since!

The Dilworth Family Grand Stand

Atlantic Beach, FL

Visit fundraising page for more details On Saturday, June 11, 2011, the Dilworth family hosted their 6th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Grand Stand outside their home in Atlantic Beach, FL. The Dilworth Family Grand Stand included various family friendly activities for children of all ages. Since 2006, the Dilworths and their friends have raised over $22,000!

The Smith Family Grand Stand

Spring Lake, NJ

Visit fundraising page for more details On Saturday, June 11, 2011 the Smith Family held their Fourth Annual Smith Family Lemonade Stand in honor of their daughter, Bridget Rose. They served ice cold lemonade, plenty of yummy treats, and had lots of activities during the day, including an ALSF lemon tattooing station. In the past four years, the Smiths have raised over $100,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Taggart Family 2011 Grand Stand

Irvine, CA

Visit fundraising page for more details On June 11, 2011, the Taggart family’s 7th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Grand Stand in memory of their son John Kelly Taggart took place at the Irvine Spectrum.  It was John's idea to host a stand and send all the proceeds to ALSF; the Taggarts continue John’s idea to this day.  Since 2005, the Taggarts have raised over $57,000 in the battle against childhood cancer.

Hollway Family Grand Stand

Edina, MN

Visit fundraising page for more details On June 12, 2011, the Hollways hosted their 7th Annual Grand Stand at the Mall of America in honor of Molly Hollway, a 17+ year survivor of neuroblastoma, and all the childhood cancer heroes from Minnesota.  This year, the first 2 mile “MN Lemon Run” was held to kickoff the Grand Stand festivities.  Two live dance shows, ice cold lemonade, a silent auction, games and prizes were part of the day too. The Hollway Grand Stand has raised over $36,000!

Baxter Families Grand Stand

Fort Mill, SC

Visit fundraising page for more details On Saturday, June 18, three families who have each been touched by childhood cancer hosted their Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Grand Stand. The Baxter Grand Stand is a collective effort of three families who have each personally been touched by childhood cancer. Brad and Lorie Lower's daughter, Louise; Geoff and Heather Lux’s son, Austin; and Scott and Jennifer DeNobile’s son, Vincent were all diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer. The fact that Louise, Austin, and Vincent are all healthy is nothing short of miraculous, and the families continue to look for ways to fight the deadly disease. In total, since first holding their first lemonade stand in 2005, the Baxter families have raised nearly $55,000.

The Jitterbugs Early Childhood Program Grand Stand

Belchertown, MA

Visit fundraising page for more details The Jitterbugs Early Childhood Program held its 7th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand event on the Belchertown Common in Belchertown, MA, June 25, 2011. They kicked the day off with a choice of a 5K run or some Zumba – they had to find some way to make visitors really thirsty! As in past years, many family friendly activities were offered throughout the day. With the very generous support of their wonderful community, Jitterbugs has raised over $30,000 in past years; they thank everyone for their continuing support.

Lemonade Stand by Friends of Henry and Rehanna

Cranberry Township, PA

Visit fundraising page for more details Even though prizes, mini-golf, face painting, video games, Radio Disney, lemonade, and a live band have been a part of this fun-filled event in past years, this year was the first year Alex's Lemonade Stand by Friends of Henry and Rehanna became an official Grand Stand! This Grand Stand was held on June 25 in honor of 2 cancer fighters: Henry Keating Scheck and Rehanna Lydon.  So far, this Grand Stand team has raised over $10,000!

Miller Tribe and Crew San Diego Grand Stand

San Diego, CA

Visit fundraising page for more details On July 30, 2011 the Miller Tribe hosted their 6th Annual Alex's Lemonade Stand Grand Stand, having already raised over $37,000 in past years.  This year featured FM 94.9, live bands, lemonade, letter writing to children with cancer, a silent auction, LEGOLAND tickets, and lemonade of course!  The Miller Tribe’s goal was to raise at least $10,000 in 2011 and they beat that goal by raising $10,500!

Bowling Green Alex’s Lemonade Stand Day

Bowling Green, KY

Visit fundraising page for more details On August 6, 2011, the Miller family of Bowling Green, Kentucky, along with many volunteers throughout Warren County, hosted their 7th Annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Grand Stand. The Bowling Green Alex’s Lemonade Stand Day is held in honor and memory of the families in the area who have been touched by childhood cancer. Riley Miller, the eldest daughter of the Miller family, held her first Alex’s Lemonade Stand in 2005 in memory of her baby brother Reid and later in memory of her baby brother Randon. Many other children joined her that year to honor loved ones and it became a citywide event. This year, they raised nearly $26,000 and in total, the Bowling Green Grand Stand has raised over $145,000!

Sweet Brinley’s Grand Stand

West Jordan, UT

Visit fundraising page for more details For the second year in a row, the Torres family and their friends hosted Sweet Brinley’s Grand Stand in honor of their daughter and childhood cancer survivor, Brinley, as well as all who are still fighting cancer.  The Grand Stand took place on September 17 during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and included a bounce house, carnival games, food, a DJ, great prizes,  giveaways and all-you-can-drink lemonade.  Since their first stand in 2009, the Torres family and their friends have raised over $20,000!

The Lehigh Valley Communities on the Move for
Alex Grand Stand

Bethlehem, PA

Visit fundraising page for more details The Engelhardt family and their friends held its fifth annual carnival-type Grand Stand at the Rose Garden in Bethlehem, PA on September 17, 2011, complete with bands, food, lemonade, prizes, games, and other fun activities and booths.  Since 2007, this Grand Stand has raised close to $45,000.  This year, the Grand Stand kicked-off with a 5K community run in honor of Isabella Gonzalez, a childhood cancer fighter.

The Kontje Grand Stand

Holtsville, NY

Visit fundraising page for more details The Kontje family held its first official Grand Stand on October 31, 2011 in Holtsville, NY.  John Kontje, a cancer survivor, was inspired by the children who had cancer and were going through treatment while he was being treated.  John knew he wanted to do more to help them and when he was finally out of treatment, decided he would host his first stand in 2007 and became a top 100 ALSF fundraiser! In 2011, the Kontje Grand Stand invited the community to enjoy games and prizes for adults and children, a performance by a teenage jazz band, Halloween candy, cookies, hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate and lemonade. Visitors stopped by during the day and while trick-or-treating at night!
