L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade - A Decadent Chefs Cookout

Past Events

Past Events - 2012 L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade

Mostly sunny and hot with a chance to contribute to a cure. This could have been the forecast for the third annual L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade event held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Culver Studios Mansion and benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Thanks to the more than 1,200 guests in attendance – who battled both steamy temperatures as well as the construction delays on the 405 Freeway known to locals as “carmageddon II” – more than $500,000 was raised toward funding important research projects searching for cures for all childhood cancers.

In addition to the delicious food and drinks prepared by more than 40 culinary greats and mixologists, guests also enjoyed the entertainment provided by emcee Jimmy Kimmel, who at one point requested a hat from the audience to help prevent chef Chris Bianco’s head from getting sunburned, as well as more poignant and inspiring moments. Hayley Taggart, sister of childhood cancer hero John Taggart who passed away at the age of 5, spoke of her brave brother’s love for rainbows and slurpees, and Grammy-award winning artist Michelle Branch’s musical set included a song dedicated to her niece currently battling the disease.

Rounded out by successful live and silent auctions and beautiful sentiments from Liz and Jay Scott as well as hosts Suzanne Goin, David Lentz and business partner Caroline Styne – the decadent afternoon showcased the love that L.A. truly has for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and all children with cancer.

A special thanks to all guests and sponsors for an amazing event!
