Make It A Success for Schools

Tips for a Successful Event!

We want your ALSF event to be a meaningful and inspiring experience for you and your school community that raises significant funds for pediatric cancer research.

Here are some tips for making your Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraising event a success:

  • Create excitement! Plan a kickoff assembly, a dorm meeting, or a service-learning lesson in your classroom. Share Alex's inspiring story, let everyone know about the upcoming event and what they can do, and ask for their support as a volunteer or donor!

  • Spread the word! Hang flyers around your campus and include news about the event in weekly folders, e-newsletters, email lists or other school communications. Social media can be a great way to spread the word too. For help contacting local media, get in touch with Liz Scott at [email protected] or at our offices at 866-333-1213.

  • Use your ALSF event page! When you register your event, we create a page just for you on our website. You can post photos and updates and share the link easily with friends, contacts, parents and school community members. People can even give online right to your page.

  • We are here to help! When you register your event, you will receive a welcome email from your Event Coach. Your Event Coach can provide you with helpful tools and resources for your event/stand, including a letter of support on our official letterhead. This letter states that the Foundation acknowledges and supports your fundraising efforts and includes our tax ID number. If you solicit donations from local vendors, the letter will show you are legitimate. We also have downloads, like logos and flyers, available for your use. Have other questions? Feel free to give us a shout at 866-333-1213.
