Please check out the great article written on SMS's Lemonade Stand in Memory of Jordan DuPriest - http://news.fredericksburg.com/newsdesk/2014/02/27/making-lemonade-in-fr...

I know with all of the support and encouragement the girls have received, this is going to be a great success. The thing that has touched us the most is the stories that so many people share with us when we are holding a Lemonade Stand....I think Sydney put it best in the speech she delivered recently, "Although this is in Jordan’s memory this is something that impacts all of us even those who did not know Jordan. I really appreciated the stories some of you shared with me about other children you knew who had been impacted by pediatric cancer. I want you to know that this Lemonade War is for all of the children we know who have been impacted by cancer. "

How amazing what a few girls missing their friend can accomplish in 30 days!! And the community support... just inspirational and humbling. These girls set a goal to fund one month of pediatric research in 30 days. They recruited their friends, rallied their fellow students and found guidance and support from adults to make a diiference. With just over 3 days til the 2014 Lemonade Wars comes to a close the goal has been met, surpassed and still climbing - WOW!!! What is even mor amazing is how many businesses, schools, and individuals are reaching out asking how they can continue supporting Alex's Lemonade Stand in Jordan's memory and for all of our Angels, Warriors and Survivors and their families who have been affected by childhood cancer. I can spout tons of statistics and facts about childhood cancers but the bottomline come down to a child's life - every kid deserves to growup and every parent needs to hear 100% survival.

Wow! I know we have said it a lot but what an AMAZING experience this has been for all of us. We started out with a goal of funding a month of research in Jordan's memory and we were committed to continuing our efforts until we reached that goal. As of tonight, counting the checks in the mail as of yesterday we are at over $10,600 raised in the last 8 weeks! What a team we have had and how many truly wonderful people we have met along the way and best of all - we are continuing the great work Jordan started and keeping our memories of her fresh! I can't believe the incredible teamwork I have witnesses among the girls and the adults and how much closer this has brought all of us. I truly feel blessed for being a part of this! A huge thank you to the DuPriest family for their support, encouragement and leadership throughout. We are continuing our fundraising and have events scheduled through June so please check out our other fundraising pages. Just search "Jordan DuPriest". Hugs and thanks to everyone who has helped us!
