Just wanted to let everyone know that as I completed the paperwork before mailing the donations I read that it may take three weeks for donations to be posted. It also said that this time of year is very busy for them and to be patient.
I just wanted to let all of you know this and not think I didn't mail in the donations.
I tried to post a video here of the TV news segment about our Alex's Lemonade Stand, but I believe that only still photos are accepted.
Hope all of you enjoy a great 4th of July.

I will finally mail all our donations tonight. We more than doubled our goal and thank God for His help. It was a physically difficult day for me and I knew that Divine intervention kept me going. I also must thank my sweet husband, who is a cancer survivor, daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and some of their friends for their help.

Also, without Cemex Inc. and Bob Ross Auto Group we would have raised only a little over our goal. Also, our Fairborn, Ohio Kroger store gave us a generous gift card to buy much of the goodies. We shared our left over cookies with our local police and fire departments.

Please check back in several days for our grand total!!!

I forgot to mention a family who helped us with their own smaller version of an Alex's Lemonade Stand. The Pearson family, who live a few streets from my daughter and her family, wanted to sell lemonade and goodies while they also held a garage sale. Thank you so much for all your efforts.
The Pearson family raised over $60. that they gave to my event. God bless you, Pearsons.

It's three days after the Alex's Lemonade Stand and I'm still excited and recovering from the big day. My husband, our daughter, her husband, and their children helped. Two friends of my grandchildren even brought cookies to sell and then helped us.
I wasn't sure what to expect about having a lemonade stand in the middle of a multi-family garage sale. We had a lovely day with sun and temperatures in the mid 80's. This was warm enough for many people to want some cold lemonade, iced tea, cold bottled water, cookies, and other goodies.
It was fantastic to spread the word about the work that ALSF does to help children with cancer. Some people had no idea what the charity is, some had heard of the cause, and others had many questions about cancer in children. I handed out all of the information that I received in my kit from ALSF, and could have used more to give.
A videographer came just as we finished setting up and interviewed me for our local NBC affiliate (WDTN) in Dayton, OH. The edited part of the interview that was on the news was my answer to his last question. He asked me what I would want to say to the children that are affected by cancer. That took me by surprise, but spoke from my heart and soul.
Donations continue to come in and I won't send in all of the donations for another week or so. I'll keep this site up for a few weeks and donations will still be accepted here or if you know me, I'll be glad to send donations in myself. I do know that we have several hundred dollars more than posted here tonight. It's so exciting to be able to help.

My daughter, who is helping me with this event, studied classical ballet with another dancer who was diagnosed with leukemia at a young teen. This former dance student is now a healthy adult and is a producer/reporter at a local news station. She is going to run a segment on the news about our Alex's Lemonade Stand, on June 19. This will be on channel 2, WDTN for Dayton area locals. She is also going to send a camera crew the day of the event!! I'm so very thankful for her help.

A neighbor of my daughter is going to hold a "satellite" stand in her front yard. Her daughters wanted to sell Kool-Aid that day. They will give us the money that they raise to donate. God is blessing us as we prepare for the big day. I will give her signs that will help and information about childhood cancers to have available at her site.

So excited about tomorrow's Alex's Lemonade Stand. Unfortunately, our TV news segment for last night had to be cancelled due to coverage of potential severe weather.
We have received several donations that haven't been sent in to show here on our page. We had two generous donations from businesses where family members are employed. CEMEX INC. and BOB ROSS AUTO GROUP donated enough to get us near our goal of $ 500. !
Our local KROGER store gave us $100. to use to buy what we needed for our stand. Wal-Mart also donated $25.00 also to purchase what we needed.
We have been blessed and are praying for a wonderful turn out tomorrow, and no more thunderstorms.

My daughter, Elizabeth and I are looking forward to the completion of all details of our ALS event! We are holding our stand during a large neighborhood garage sale and have faced some difficulties with date and time. Our date will remain June 21 and will also remain from 9 am-3 pm.
I'm now able to allow myself to feel more excitement and work on the fun stuff.

We have a page on Facebook @ Alex's Lemonade Stand to Help End Childhood Cancer. Check it out and please leave a message.

A neighbor of my daughter, where the Alex's Lemonade Stand will be held, said she wants to hold a satellite stand in her front yard also. She will then give us the money she collects! This will be great as a large garage sale will be held at the time of our stands.

I also contacted a woman who my daughter knew when they both studied ballet together. This woman was diagnosed with leukemia as a young teen, but is now healthy. She is now a producer/reporter at a local TV news station. She will run a story on the news two days before our event, and will send a camera crew to our event! How exciting!!
