"I am having an on-line lemonade stand because I want to raise money to help sick kids with cancer." --Ryan Compton
Ryan is a two time cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 22 months, finished 3.5 years of treatment, and relapsed 10 days later. He went on to have much more aggressive chemotherapy, followed by total body irradiation and a bone marrow transplant. He is almost four years post-bone marrow transplant and has had no evidence of disease.
We believe in staying very involved within the pediatric cancer community, and raising funds for research & support services. We do this in anticipation of the day when a cure is found and no child and their family will have to go through what Ryan and some his friends & their families have gone through. Now that Ryan is doing better, he likes to help raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer research & support services. He is having a virtual Alex's Lemonade Stand this September, in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. He will also be speaking at the annual LA Loves Alex's Lemonade Stand event on September 20th. Please help Ryan meet or exceed his goal of raising $1000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Thank you! <3
