Hello and thank you for visiting the Team Payton Lemon Run Page.
Our story begins when Payton was just eight months old. What began as a fever turned out to be a diagnoses of neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer that affects roughly 10% of all childhood cancer patients. The tumor was removed two weeks later with great success and she was able to avoid both chemotherapy and radiation. Doctors say that out of the nearly 650 cases per year that are diagnosed, only about 7% are presented this way.
While we never stop worrying, we always recognize how fortunate we are to have our girl with us today and her little scar on her belly reminds of this. We were fortunate that her tumor was found early on; fortunate to have an amazing doctor that found it during a routine test for urinary reflux; fortunage that the remarkable surgical and nurses team at the Children's Hospitatl of Philadelphia removed it wihout incident so she was able to avoid both chemo and radiation; so fortunate our little girl is with us today.
Each and every year we reach out to members of Team Payton, our friends and family, to help us to continue to support Alex's Lemonade Stand so that many more children will have the same opportunity to live a beautiful life. And each and every year we are amazed byt he love and generosity of those around us and those that continue to support this great cause.
We are once again raising money around our favorite lemon event and hope you and your friends and family plan to join us for another memorable event. If you cannot join us please consider donating to our page. Every dollar raised goes directly to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in an effort to find a cure for childhood cancer.
Thank you for everything and we love you!
