When
I am excited to say that I will be running the 2015 NYC Marathon (26.2 miles) in November to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national organization dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer by funding important research projects.
The Foundation emerged from a young cancer patient’s lemonade stand and determination to help other children battling cancer. Alex Scott asked for help to reach her goal of raising $1 million to help kids with cancer before she passed away in 2004 at eight years old. Her community and the nation responded, and today the Foundation has raised >$80 million in the fight against childhood cancer.
Results from a recent clinical trial indicated that a drug being used to treat lung cancer in adults eradicated cancer in a select group of children with lymphoma. ALSF had a crucial role in this project, as it provided previous funding to the research team that allowed them to develop the breakthrough trial.
Achieving my goal of raising $3,000 toward childhood cancer research will make every mile that much more meaningful. I am asking you to make a gift to support this great cause. Any amount you can donate (no matter how small) will be greatly appreciated! All donations are, of course, tax deductible. Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
