UPDATE: We hit our original goal of $500! We want to thank everyone for the very generous donations so far. Now, we plan to double that initial goal and set a new goal of $1,000! I know we will be capable of this. Thank you all so much.
The Aquacade is a Philanthropic Event held on April 24th from 4PM-8PM at the Beeghly Pool at Youngstown State University, which shall put your swimming skills to the test through a diverse series of events, each sharing the common theme of being held poolside. Student that register for the event will compete in individual and group events all to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.
This donation page is set up to help bring even more awareness to this cause, we are asking anybody to help donate money to one of the teammates on this page, which are all brothers of the Eta Chi chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Youngstown State University. Any dollar amount is very helpful in every way. The money raised from this page, will be added to the total amount of money raised by the students that register for the event. Last year we rasied just over $400, this year we plan to beat that amount!
It is critical to emphasize why we are raising this money. All proceeds are to be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand in the interest for raising money for childhood cancer research and awareness. These forms of cancer take a heavy toll on those affected both physically and, more prevalent, psychologically. No one should ever have their self-esteem diminished by Cancer. This is our call to help. Help us raise money to find more efficient cures and treatments, and swim toward a cancer free future.
