United StatesWelcome to our lemonade stand. Our first stand will be held on 4/18 at the Russellville soccer complex. We (The Schwehm Family) are hosting the stand in honor of our 4 year old daughter Morgan. On September 13, 2013 Morgan was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma, a common form of childhood cancer. For 16 months Morgan underwent extremely harsh treatment including chemotherapy, surgery, radiation & immunotherapy. We are happy to say that Morgan completed treatment December 2014, but her journey is far from over.
ALSF aims to cure childhood cancer “one cup at a time”. The idea is simple. Children or adults can hold a lemonade stand anywhere and accept donations for the organization. In fact, this lemonade stand was the idea of Morgan’s 7 year old sister (and fellow AVSA soccer player), Meg. ALSF turns around and funds incredible research by top pediatric oncologists to find more effective and less toxic treatments. The National Cancer Institute spends less than 4% of their budget every year on all childhood cancer research. Top rated charities like ALSF are making a significant and meaningful difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families.
