Let’s Do Something Good Together
In May 2011, at the ILWU Longshore Division Caucus, the Division passed a resolution entitled “Doing Something Good Together.” By passing that resolution, the Longshore Division locals in California, the Puget Sound, and the Columbia River came together for a worthy cause, the fight against cancer. ILWU Locals, up and down the coast, united with the common goal to help others.
This year, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Walk the Coast Committee in the Puget Sound area is continuing its effort to fight cancer. By clicking the orange “Donate” button in the top right “Donate to my event” section of this page, you can make a direct impact in the fight against childhood cancer. Your donation will go directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that funds childhood cancer research. We are proud to note that the ILWU received the honor of being a national “Top Fundraiser” for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in 2012, 2013 and 2014, placing the ILWU in the same category as top fundraising Fortune 500 companies in this fight against cancer. We intend to continue that trend in 2015. To date, the ILWU has raised more than $250,000 in the fight against childhood cancer and we can all be proud of that accomplishment.
Let’s do something good together. Again, here’s how YOU can help now:
