In May of 2014 I completed the Cleveland Marathon and ran 26.2 miles for the 3rd time. It was then that I vowed never to do it again! Well I've decided to run 26.2 miles yet again, but this time I want to do it to honor someone who is truly an inspiration to all of us.
I'm running for my cousin Lily Adkins, a cancer survivor. Lily was diagnosed with cancer when she was just over a year old. She is a fighter and a true champion. Lily always has a smile on her face and shows such kindness to everyone. She and her family recently broke the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest cup of lemonade EVER to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Lily’s determination and hard work inspired me to want to help ALL KIDS battling childhood cancer. On October 11, 2015, I will be representing Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon! As a member of Team Lemon I will be training, fundraising and ultimately running 26.2 miles to fund much needed critical research for the treatment of childhood cancer. Lily and her family mean the world to me and I am grateful to have them in my life.
Alex’s Lemonade Foundation helps fund critically-needed research to find better treatments and cures for children with cancer. The foundation has raised more than $100 million since 2005 to fund 500 different childhood cancer research projects at over 100 top hospitals and institutions in the United States and Canada. Additionally, the foundation has been able to offer promising treatments to the children and families who need them most.
I am asking for your support to help me reach my fundraising goal and more importantly, to help children and families that need it most. Be a part of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and provide HOPE, STRENGTH and SUPPORT. No gift is too small. Your donation, of any amount will make a difference to those who need it the most.
