When
I am naturally a passionate person. Bringing two of my favorite passions-fitness and helping others-together is an especially awarding experience for me. I started running races about three years ago because it gave me an opportunity to set a goal for myself and go for it. And each time I reached a milestone, I wanted to go a little further so I got to the point of wanting to strive for a marathon.
Two years, my cousins daughter, Olivia was diagnosed with leukemia at 18 months. Then, my husband's cousin's four year old son Ryder, was diagnosed with DIPG. And, most recently, my good friend's nephew, Connor was diagnosed with an extremely rare brain cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma at 23 months. At three years old, after his 'superhero' battle against cancer, he passed away.
As a mom of two beautiful healthy girls, the mere thought of kids have to endure cancer is unfathomable to me. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to take these two things that I am very passionate about to help make a difference and be a role model for my girls on how to extend our own strengths in to the community. I have chosen to run with Team Lemon because its only goal is to raise money for pediatric cancer. The strong and amazing little superheroes who touch my life personally, as well as the thousands of other kids out there fighting their battle, will be my inspiration for each foot I put in front of the other on my 26.2 mile journey on Nov.1st.
Please consider making a donation to this amazing charity for the children who are fighting for their lives everyday.
