September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and "Every Step Counts" in the fight against cancer in children and adolescents. As a fun challenge for Yellow DVL, you can win a Fitbit™ FLEX if you correctly guess how many steps I take at work at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Month of September.
Guidelines :
No donations are necessary to enter
Submit your entry on the Yellow DVL page as a Post or email me at [email protected]
One entry per person, each member of multi-person teams can submit an entry by emailing [email protected]
All entries must be posted by 5 PM on September 27, 2015
The entry that comes closest without going over wins a Fitbit™ Flex with a standard black wristband and accessory yellow band.
Hints:
In September, I will wear a Fitbit™ Flex with a yellow band in honor of Alex Scott, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and every child and adolescent battling cancer. Every step I take at work for the entire month of September will be logged.
After work on September 30, I will post the total number of steps I have taken at work in September
Only steps I take at work count.
Keep in mind
• There are 2000 steps in a mile
• I can get from my office to the outpatient clinic in 4Wood at CHOP in about 650 steps
• Between my office and the CHOP Oncology inpatient unit is about 600 steps
• The distance from the oncology outpatient clinic and inpatient unit at CHOP is approximately 230 steps.
• Distance between my office and my lab is about 70 steps
• My days are highly variable but as an example on Friday August 28, 2015, I walked 7253 steps at work.
