Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States. On the average, 1 in every 4 elementary schools has a child with cancer and 46 children/adolescents are diagnosed with cancer every weekday in the U.S. These statistics are overwhelming. Last year I held a Lemonade Stand Fundraising Page in memory of my cousin Kenny who lost his battle to cancer at the age of 5. He would have been 14 years old this March. Although time has gone by, Kenny has not been forgotten.

He had undergone months of intense cancer treatments when he was just 4 years old. But not long after his parents, my cousin Mame O'Gorman Bird and her husband Ken, were told he was cancer-free, God called him home. I would like to memorialize this page in Kenny's name once again.
Please visit last years page also to see how WE made a difference in some young lives http://www.firstgiving.com/bethturner_2008 .. I set a goal of $500 and with the love poured out from family, friends and strangers WE reached $1000.00.
I know in these rough economic times it's hard for many to keep their head above water. But I believe in counting my Blessings and paying it forward. We can give another family hope, we can give another young child a second chance.
The innocents need us.
All donations go directly to Alex's Lemonade Stand.
Thank you in advance,
Beth Turner
