I am excited to report to everyone that our November 22nd event was a fantastic, fun event to do because of all the help and support I received from my 14 team leaders that helped organize this Yorba Linda community wide event. We had over 185 fellow students, friends, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts helping make the event a successful one.
Unfortunately, as we were getting our 14 Lemonade Stands ready, our Yorba Linda Community was struck with a fire storm a week before our event so our team made a conscious decision to make our event a dual one. Raise awareness and money for the Alex's Foundation but also to raise money for our fire victims. Esperanza High School in Anaheim where I am the Junior Class President, had 35 fellow students that were displaced or had their home destroyed due to the fire.
The GRAND TOTAL we successfully collected was $8,518.03 -- $4,773.40 for Alex's Foundation and $3,744.63 for our fire victims in Yorba Linda. Thank you to everyone for their support especially our local community leaders, US Congressman Gary Miller, Councilman John Anderson, Councilwoman Jan Horton and Councilwoman Nancy Rikel for helping with our event.
