It has been two years since Jessica held her first lemonade stand to benefit pediatric and breast cancers. Last year, we are proud that, to date, she has raised over $4,600, which was divided between those two charities. All we can say is "THANK YOU" for your generosity and support. As you know, Jessica lost two cousins, Kevin Charles Shaw and Joshua Thomas Puszkar, that she never had the chance to meet to pediatric cancer. The Mother (and close friend of ours) of her friend Addison, Bonnie Hulett, lost her battle with breast cancer on August 2, 2008 at only 33 years old, after a five year battle. She died only weeks before Jessica's first lemonade stand. We also have countless friends and family members who have been touched directly or indirectly by these illnesses, some of whom are listed on the attached flyer. We are sure your lives have been touched, as well. Since last year, more lovely women in our lives have battled breast cancer and more innocent children have started the battle. Jessica has unfortunately had to add more pictures to her Lemonade Stand posters. Jessica has once again decided to do her part to stop these tragedies from tearing apart lives and families. She will be holding her lemonade stand (flyer attached) to raise money through donations for each of these worthy causes. The stand will benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (www.alexslemonade.org) and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation (www.komen.org). The stand will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at our home (1240 Natalyns Trace, Lebanon, Illinois) from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lemonade and cookies will be free, we are simply asking for donations. Also, anyone donating over $20 will be entered into a raffle to win several great prizes. Prizes include a baseball signed by Colby Rasmus, Brendan Ryan, Joe Mather, and former pitcher Scott Terry, an autographed picture of Platinum Recording Artist Pink, a gift basket from Fezziwigs Market in Lebanon, and more!!! We realize it may be impossible for everyone to attend, but still wish to give everyone the opportunity to donate. If you would like to donate any amount, please forward your donation to our home at 1240 Natalyns Trace, Lebanon, Illinois 62254. You may make any checks out to either Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation or Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO CHARITY.
