My Name is Allison and this is my story:
When I was 5 years old my sister, Amber Dubois, passed away on February 13, 2009. My mom started a volunteer Search and Rescue team called Team Amber Rescue, and now they help other families who have loved ones who are missing. I am not old enough to join the team, so I decided I would do something else to help people.
One day while eating at Chili's restaurant, I noticed they featured a child with a tumor on their menu. I said to my friend, “We need to help children with cancer.” I came up with "Alli's Hope for Kids." My lifetime goal is to raise 50 million dollars. I’m hoping to raise $500.00 at today’s event. My mom is going to give a percentage of the money earned from today’s walk to this cause. I am now determined to raise over $500.00 all by myself. The money raised for “Alli’s Hope for Kids” will be given to the nonprofit charity “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” which helps children with cancer.
I am selling lemonade today in memory of Sarah "Bean" Williams who passed away in Janurary 2009 when she was only 11 years old.
