As we reflect on 2013, all that we accomplished and all that we lost, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to all the amazing sponsors, who without hesitation, donated time, money, food, supplies and their hearts. You ROCK!

Thank you to all of our supporters for taking this journey with us. We understand how heart-wrenching it is to turn your eye and your heart towards pain and suffering. It would be easy to pretend it doesn’t exist. It requires courage for all of you to read our posts, to become educated on the statistics, to follow the journeys of the children who are fighting and the children who’ve lost the fight, to pray, to hope, to donate, to fight. You’re amazing!

As we look towards 2014 and all the possibility it holds, we will remember Sam Jeffers (8), Superman Sam (8), Delaney Brown (8), Gabriella Miller (10) and the countless others. We will remember their families who grieve. We will hold up those kids who are now cancer-free and those who are fighting – Jillian (5), Mateo (2) and Charlette (18) – to name a few.

We will concentrate on what we can do today for a cure tomorrow. We will strive to empower our community and our youth with education, resources and support. We will run to the White House and yoga our way to victory. We will make lemonade out of lemons, we will light up our porches and wardrobes in GOLD. We will hit the pavement running, we will knock on doors, we will spread the word and we will save children’s lives.

We can do this, you and me - our hands, our feet and our hearts WILL continue to make a difference. One day and one delicious cup at a time. Bring it on, 2014… we’re ready!
