From Old York Road Temple Beth Am ‘s website: Alex's Lemonade Stand - In Honor of Sara Burke will be open for our Purim Carnival March 20 and March 22 and 23 for our Purim shows. Sara, our five year old congregant, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in July, 2007. CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) was "home" to Sara and her mom, Jen, for seven long months. During that time she underwent several surgeries, chemotherapy, and a variety of other therapies. Although Sara faced many challenges, she remained strong and courageous. Now home, Sara is receiving treatment on an outpatient basis. She has a long way to go but is progressing beautifully. Please help us raise funds by supporting Beth Am's Alex's Lemonade Stand to help aid and fight against childhood cancer. Donations can be made in advance by check (made out to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation or mailed to the Temple), or make a donation in Sara's honor by calling the Foundation toll- free at 1-866-333-1213. For additional information or to volunteer, please contact Robin Berman at 215-745- 9325 or Neile Davis at 215-782-1492. And stop by our stand during our Purim festivities and let's all drink to everyone's good health.
