A message from Jay and Liz Scott, Alex's Parents:

Many of you think of Alex as a hero – the sweet and courageous lemonade girl who inspired others to help children with cancer. Although she did not get the chance to live a long life, she showed us what it means to live a full life. Her bravery, strength and love of life continue to inspire us every day. She is indeed our hero!

Since Alex was diagnosed in 1997, more than two million more children worldwide have suffered because of cancer. These kids all have hopes and dreams of long lives. They have parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and cousins who cherish them. They all inspire those who know them with their bravery, strength, and love of life. They are all heroes.

Ezra is a 7-year-old sweetheart. He loves being around people and playing with friends whenever he can. After he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, he struggled with treatment. Nothing seemed to be working for him.

Jillian was a courageous and strong-willed child. She always had a smile on her face, and no matter the pain she felt, always made sure everyone else had smiles too. Jill received treatment for neuroblastoma the year she was born, but sadly passed away.

Collin was a social butterfly who loved to have fun. He was diagnosed twice with ALL, and after 12 wonderful years cancer-free, he was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid carcinoma and began fighting all over again. Sadly he passed away, but was an inspiration.

Wyatt has always been a happy and loving boy. When he started acting differently, his family knew something was seriously wrong. After a trip to the ER, Wyatt was soon diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Today he is still fighting.
Six-year-old Karina loves cooking so much, she has a YouTube channel where she shares her very own cooking videos. In August 2020, Karina was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia that was Philadelphia chromosome-positive, but today she is NED!
At nearly 5 years old, Zoey is full of life! Zoey was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma and is currently on a clinical trial that will last for three years. Her family started their small shop, Zoey's Boweys, to help fund pediatric cancer research.
Cautious but curious, Avani was a rule-following, organized, fun-loving, and big-hearted little girl. Sadly, Avani passed away at 11 years old from a burst brain tumor. It wasn't until months later that her parents learned it was DIPG, cancer.
Ailani's family calls her a true Warrior Princess as she fights acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Doctors discovered Ailani harbored a rare genetic mutation which makes standard treatment ineffective. Today, Ailani has reached remission!
Smart and sassy, Guinevere likes to garden, dress like a princess, dance, sing, and play with her friends. When she was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, she could no longer enjoy those things. Thankfully, in 2022 she finished treatment.
Keaton was an affectionate little boy with a love for Marvel superheroes, especially Captain America. In April, he tripped on his way to school which led to a DIPG diagnosis. His family was told he only had six-12 months to live.
Drew is a witty and funny 9-year-old who always makes his family laugh. In 2019, after a few weeks of experiencing strange symptoms, Drew was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma located primarily in his right jaw muscle. But he never asked "why me".
Owen is a silly kid who loves to joke around with his family. After assessing some strange bumps on his leg, Owen's doctor sent him for several tests and a biopsy. Owen was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, and today he has reached remission!
Karlee is a lovable, empathetic teenager. While she is not the biggest fan of change, she always tackles any obstacles with courage. Karlee was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma during the ice storm of December 2007 at 2 years old. Today, she is a survivor.
Lincoln is a silly and insightful kid who loves LEGOs, superheroes and playing with his puppy. In 2017, he began throwing up randomly which led to the discovery of a large brain tumor. At 3 years old, Lincoln began treatment with an emergency surgery.
The best words to describe Connor are funny, goofy and loving. He is naturally strong and resilient, especially as he’s fighting his B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Connor's treatment has been tough, but today he is in the maintenance stage.
Julie is a spunky 9-year-old girl who loves all living things. In 2021, Julie developed symptoms that stumped her doctors. After many doctors visits and testing, Julie was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Today she is still fighting for her cure.
Max is a creative little boy who loves to use his imagination. When he was 3 years old, he started getting unexpected nosebleeds and knee pains. After several misdiagnoses, his family took him for blood work where they finally discovered he had leukemia.
Kadi loves expressing herself in artistic ways. In 2019, she began having lower leg pain where a tumor was soon discovered. She was then diagnosed with osteosarcoma and began treatment that same day. Today, Kadi is still waiting for her cure.
At 7 years old, Ava was having pain in her wrist with no sign of injury. Eventually, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and endured countless rounds of chemotherapy. Today, as a teenager, cancer has learned not to mess with Ava!
