Several local Applebees Neighborhood Bar & Grill restaurants are taking part in a chainwide, month-long fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which raises money for cancer research.
A monthlong campaign kicked off June 29 and marks the 11th consecutive year that Applebee’s franchisees have supported the foundation. More than 870 Applebee’s restaurants nationwide will work toward topping the $6 million mark in 2015. Participating Applebees are in Worcester, Auburn, Millbury, Sturbridge, Leominster and Milford.
Fundraising efforts vary by restaurant. In addition, Applebee’s restaurants plan to hold events, including lemonade stands, golf tournaments, donation nights and more.
