It’s a rule of life – never pass a kid’s lemonade stand without buying a cup. Tonight, the McCarthy family will be selling lemonade in front of G. Willikers toy store from 4 to 9 p.m. to raise money for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which in turn helps pay for research to fight childhood cancer.
I visited Peter, Paige, Brian and Matthew at their home in Wilton yesterday, where they had their lemonade stand set up in their garage to avoid the rain. Today promises better weather for sales on Broadway during the Travers Festival.
Paige learned about Alexandra Scott and the foundation she started when she bought a bottle of lemonade downtown. She found the information online about how to host her own stand, ordered supplies and set up for the first time with her husband and boys near the Saratoga Race Course last summer.
