The Cherry Hill High School East Singers and Thespian Society will be holding their 4th annual Coffee House on March 28 from 7pm - 10pm at Cherry Hill East High School. This year the money raised will go to Max’s Fund, named in memory of Cherry Hill East student Max Levine who died after a long battle with neuroblastoma. Max would have graduated from East this year but unfortunately passed away last April. Max's Fund donates money through the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation that goes to pediatric cancer research.
The Levine’s will speak at Coffee House and Sarah Levine, a recent East graduate, will sing in honor of her brother. Also in attendance will be Dr. Maris and many staff members from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, who helped treat Max. Dr. Maris will speak during the program about the importance of his research in neuroblastoma and also share his experience as Max's doctor.
The entertainment will be provided by the talented East’s young musicians and singers. In addition, there will be baked goods, artwork and jewelry for sale, and even Wii Games to play -- all for a wonderful cause.
Past Coffee Houses have raised profits between $5000 and $8000. The cafeteria will be transformed into a cozy, upscale café complete with snug sofas and intimate tables for the coffee house.
Admission to the coffee house is $5.
If you are interested in contributing to the coffee house through donation of money or other needed items please contact Laurie Lausi, East Singer Director 424-2222 x. 2047 or
