Celeste Phillips-Salimi of the UK Research Foundation has been named recipient of a 2011 Nurse Researcher Grant from Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The grants are designed on the belief that the lives of children battling cancer can be improved through the work of nurses on the front lines.
Phillips-Salimi will use the award to research the development of connectedness with health care providers for adolescents and young adults with cancer. Phillips-Salimi's Intermediate Nurse Researcher Award will total $40,000 over two years.
