On Saturday, October 18, Greenville School hosted a walk-a-thon for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Kristina Cruz and Coreen DeLuca, Student Council advisors, spearheaded the event and the Student Council members organized the event and helped during the day.

Principal Lynn Coco encouraged Cruz and DeLuca to apply for the Bill O’Brien Community Service Grant through the Howell Township Education Foundation. Bill O’Brien was a well-loved teacher in the district and a former president of the HTEF. The HTEF honors O’Brien’s memory with a grant every year. The money can be used for any cause as long as it helps the community.

“The kids picked Alex’s Lemonade Stand because they could relate to the patients,” Cruz said. All the grant money was used for the walk-a-thon. There was a DJ, a dunk tank for students to dunk teachers, some games, food and drinks.
