Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, with the support of sponsor MIKE AND IKE® Brand Candies, is proud to announce that Grammy nominated recording artist, Jordin Sparks, will perform at the 2010 Lemon Ball on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The 2010 Lemon Ball will take place at the Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street from 7PM-12AM.  The Lemon Ball is an evening of cocktails, dinner, raffles, silent and live auctions and entertainment bringing together supporters of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The Lemon Ball is presented by Volvo Cars with support from CIGNA and several other sponsors. 2010 marks 10 years since cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott held her very first front yard lemonade stand to find a cure for all childhood cancers.

“We are so excited and extremely honored to have Jordin Sparks at the Lemon Ball in 2010,” said Liz Scott, Alex’s mom. “Alex’s favorite television show was American Idol, so having Jordin perform at the Lemon Ball would certainly be the fulfillment of one of Alex’s dreams.”

Jordin Sparks first became involved with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation when she partnered with MIKE AND IKE®, a longtime sponsor, during her summer 2009 tour with the Jonas Brothers.  The association with the foundation was especially important to Jordin as she has unfortunately had many people close to her in her life diagnosed with cancer. The combined effort raised awareness for the foundation by creating unique fan experiences including a branded 53’ tour vehicle, product sampling, green screen photo booth and exclusive Jordin content through www.MikeandIke.com and facebook®.

Along with Sparks’ performance, the evening will also feature remarks from Liz and Jay Scott, parents of foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott, and the awarding of the Alex Scott Crystal Cup Award, Volunteer and Stand Host of the Year.
