American Idol sixth-season winner Jordin Sparks was the star of the fourth annual Lemon Ball, held Jan. 9 to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. A highlight of the evening was when Sparks, wearing a yellow rose in her hair, invited the 800 guests to dance while she sang "One Step at a Time." The evening honored Jeremy Nowak and his wife, Jano Cohen; Beata Quindlen; and Shane and Cynthia Johnson. Among the auction items were a guitar autographed by Sparks that went for $825 and dinner with Twilight star Peter Facinelli that went for $1,800. The black-tie event, held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, raised a record $605,000 for childhood cancer research.
