Tony Boloney’s To Host First Annual Pizza Slaughter Fest Competition In Atlantic City
Saturday, May 15, 2010
(Atlantic City, NJ – May 3, 2010) – Two-year reigning Wing Bowl Champion Jon “Super Squibb” and competitors from all over the world will compete in the First Annual Pizza Slaughter Fest Competition, hosted by Tony Baloney’s located at 300 Oriental Avenue in Atlantic City. Slaughter Fest will take place rain or shine on Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m. during a full day’s activities that begin at 12 p.m.
To vie for the Golden Boloney Crown, Belt & Pizza Peel, contestants must be the first to eat 30 signature slices on the infamous Tony Boloney’s menu, including: Meathead Parmesan (spicy and-rolled sliced meatballs, marinara, smoked mozzarella cheese), Monopoly Cheese (six cheeses with a bubbly cheese crust), Casino Carnivore (10 layers of meat ravaged by mozzarella cheese), SH#TFaced Chicken (beer-battered chicken, Guinness BBQ sauce, and mozzarella and cheddar cheeses), Veggie Dune (10 marinated vegetables, and mozzarella and muenster cheeses).
“We are thrilled that Jon “Super Squibb” is coming to Atlantic City’s Tony Boloney’s to compete,” said Michael Hauke, co-owner and head pizziolo. “I say bring it on because we have some major competitors that will go head-to-head with him as he tries to take down every slice of our pizza before anyone else.”
Honorable Atlantic City Mayor Lorenzo Langford will proclaim May 15 as Tony Boloney’s Day. Vendors at the event include Stinkping Juice, which will be launching a line of organic lemonade at the event. Proceeds from the sale of lemonade will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for all childhood cancers. The Fest will feature more then 100 local vendors, including Scull Jam Fresh Juice Company.
“Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer is pleased to play a role in this exciting event,” says Liz Scott, mom of foundation creator Alexandra “Alex” Scott. “We are celebrating a milestone year in our history and are grateful for the support of unique fundraising events like this one.”
Taking place at Tony Boloney’s, located 300 Oriental Avenue and the corner of Vermont Avenue, the First Annual Pizza Slaughter Fest will begin at 12 p.m., and feature local bands such as The Ocean
Ryders, and face painting and temporary tattoos for the kids. Celebrity judges include Whitney Ullman from Atlantic City Weekly, and 1400 AM radio personality Harry Hurley. The Pizza Slaughter Fest Competition begins at 2 p.m. All Fest activities are free and open to the public.
