There will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy summers’s traditional sweet and sour drink this weekend while contributing to a worthy cause.

One Clarksburg business and a Germantown family are dedicated to setting up traditional lemonade stands in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping find a cure for childhood cancer.

Alex’s Lemonade Days, June 12-14, is an annual fundraising weekend for the foundation. It is named in honor of Alexandra Scott, who was diagnosed with neuroplastoma, the most common cancer in infants, before her first birthday. She came up with the idea of having a lemonade stand to raise money for others when she was just 4 years old according to the foundation’s website, www.alexslemonade.org.
