Cancer information for parents

Childhood Cancer Center
After a childhood cancer diagnosis, many questions will arise.

Parents may ask questions such as: How do I manage home health care? How do I care for my other children? Or, what is neutropenia?

For teens, they may think: How do I cope with a very sick sibling? How do I deal with anxiety/cancer? Or, what is a complete blood count?

And kids may wonder: How do I deal with losing my hair? How can I deal with staying at home? Or, What is chemotherapy?

Those are just some of questions that are frequently asked by parents and children of childhood cancer. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find all those answers in one place. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation recognizes this need and have therefore expanded our resources section to provide fundamental and supportive information about many things related to childhood cancer. We believe that knowledge is power- the more that we learn, the more empowered we will be, and the better decisions we will make.

This extensive database of information covers many topics related to childhood cancer. Readers can search through articles that include information about side affects, treatment options, ways to cope, diagnostic tests, and more. The content is written at 3 levels of interests: Parents, Teens and Kids, so that the whole family will have the opportunity to learn.
