David Brownstein became a part of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation through his involvement with Dance Marathon at Penn State University, a philanthropic event held every year to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund. Though he never met Alex, David discovered first hand the impact her life had on others. While driving children home from summer camp in 2004, the news of Alex’s passing came across the radio waves and David noticed the children were shaken. After sending an email to Alex’s parents detailing the impression their daughter had on these children, David thought the Dance Marathon was the perfect place for Liz and Jay to share their story. David invited them to speak, and the Scott’s were so impressed by his work that they approached him to come on board at the Foundation. David utilizes his non-profit experience to spearhead events, outreach and assist with development at the Foundation.
