As a teacher and coach at Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Az, my classes have been studying many inspirational people. Alex, without a doubt, has become our greatest inspiration.
While in 7th grade, I lost my greatest friend, my older brother, to sarcoma of the bone. During the summer before his senior year in high school, he contracted the disease and passed away 6 months later. As all younger brothers do, I wished to grow to be like him. We competed, played, and competed again in everything we did. One of the reasons I think I became a coach - I get to continue playing the games we loved as children. I also wished to become a doctor and find a cure myself. A typical reaction by someone young and upset at the time that a loved one was lost. That dream died, when realizing that such a talent did not exist. From that moment, I have always wanted to do anything I could to help. Thus, am blessed to become a part of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Our stand will be in memory of my brother, Michael Patrick Moore.
