Team Lemon: Marine Corps Marathon

Join Team Lemon in one our 25 limited slots for the 34th Annual Marine Corps Marathon (MCM), October 25th, 2009 held in the Washington DC metro area.

As a Team Lemon member you will receive a Team Lemon t-shirt, as well as a Team Lemon singlet. A pre-race dinner and 2 night hotel room at a local Hilton Hotel will also be included.

We encourage all Team Lemon members to generate awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and as a Team Lemon member raise a minimum of $1,500 for the MCM.

The Team Lemon Mission:

Team Lemon is founded on a simple philosophy inspired by Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996– 2004). Alex was  a brave little girl with a big dream: to find a cure for all children with cancer. In order to achieve that dream, Alex decided to hold lemonade stands to raise funds and awareness for the disease.

While forging her own battle against cancer, Alex continued to hold lemonade stands, and soon news spread of what one remarkable child was doing to help other sick children. People from all over the world, moved by her story, held their own lemonade stands and donated the proceeds to Alex’s cause.

Though Alex ultimately passed away from childhood cancer at the age of 8 in 2004, she knew that with the help of others, she had raised more than $1 million to help find a cure all childhood cancers. The Foundation that bears her name, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, has since raised more than $25 million for childhood cancer, funding over 100 research projects at leading hospitals and institutions across the country!

Alex is a great inspiration to us all, and as a part of Team Lemon you too are taking strides toward the day when a cure for all childhood cancers is a reality, Fighting Childhood Cancer, One mile at a time!
