Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer

Beth Robertson told her friends at work and look what happened!

Beth Robertson and her family are among our biggest supporters. The Robertson family has been helping to spread awareness about our efforts to cure childhood cancer because their son Cameron is a cancer survivor. Beth has become a stand out volunteer due to her dedication and effort in finding new groups and organizations to get involved.  When Beth first starting holding stands and raising money to support Alex's Lemonade Stand she was working at Starbucks.  She told her friends at work and encouraged them to join the fight against childhood cancer.   After sharing Alex’s story with friends in Starbucks management in her region, they jumped on board and have been fundraising and holding lemonade stands in more than 150 Starbucks stores ever since!   Thanks to Beth, who "told a friend", Starbucks has now contributed more than $150,000 to ALSF. 

Teresa Sandman: One inspired employee inspires a company wide effort to fight childhood cancer.

Teresa Sandman is a VP of Property Management for BBR Management, a company that owns and manages 100 apartment communities across the southeast and throughout the Sunbelt.  Last year, Teresa   attended an event where she learned about raising money to help children with cancer. The story touched her, and as the mother of two young children herself, she felt Alex's Lemonade Stand was something great to be involved in.  Around this same time, an anonymous suggestion came in through the BBR Idea box suggesting that each property host a lemonade stand.   Needless to say, Ms. Sandman started things rolling in order for all properties to participate.  When she presented the idea company-wide, it was received with great excitement for the opportunity to give back and help others.  The company
A two-month long campaign followed, with the properties raising over $46,000. BBR Management is already planning their Alex’s Lemonade Stand for 2010!
