Team Lemon is Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation's national athletic program, inviting all athletes to make a difference in the lives of those affected by childhood cancer. If you have already registered for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, you are not required to have a fundraising minimum, and all of your fundraising directly benefits Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

By joining Team Lemon, you are following in the footsteps of our founder, Alexandra “Alex” Scott. In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $50 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 200 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.

Here is just some of what makes Team Lemon unique and fun:

• You can apply as an individual or as a team, and there is no fundraising minimum!
• Shortly after applying, you will be connected to a personal fundraising coach and a training coach, who will be available to assist you as you collect donations and while you prepare for your race.
• We make you feel like part of a team! One month prior to the marathon, we will send you a goodie bag and t-shirt to wear on race day. You can also earn additional incentives as you hit various fundraising levels. Incentives include hotel stays, tickets to special events and more!
• Throughout you will be reminded of the impact that your efforts are having on the lives of children impacted by cancer, through true childhood cancer hero stories and testimonials.
