How to Fundraise
Ultimately, this is up to you and what you’re comfortable with, as is how much you want to raise for ALSF. We are happy to offer suggestions as well as offer the Lemon Bowl Fundraising Guide (PDF). The easiest and generally most effective way to fundraise is to ask your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to donate to your efforts. As little as $20 per person adds up and makes a difference.
- Checks can be made out to ALSF and be sure to include in the memo line your fundraising event id code (if you don’t have one use the Lemon Bowl’s event id code E1112617).
- Donate by credit or debit card online to your fundraising page, or to the event's page at http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1112617. Click the orange Donate button and follow the prompts.
You can also fundraise by reaching out to companies and local businesses. Be sure to start with your employer to see if they have a Matching Gift Program. Again, companies can donate by check or credit card following the instructions above. Donations made directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation are tax deductible. Click here for the ALSF tax id code.
Very often, large organizations and smaller local companies are willing to donate in exchange for being listed as a sponsor of an event. The Lemon Bowl offers a variety of sponsorship levels and for a list of options and details go to www.thelemonbowl.org/sponsorform. Another great option is for them to donate a product, service, item or gift card to our raffle basket auction. These items are then made available to our attendees and extended community and help our fundraising efforts. Popular items include tickets to sporting events, concerts, comedy clubs, ski resorts, amusement parks, zoos, bowling, paintball or other special places and events; stays at vacation homes; restaurant or retail store gift cards including photo studios, hair, nail and massage parlors; autographed sports or celebrity items.
We kindly ask that unless you have a direct or unique relationship with one of our existing sponsors, that you don’t solicit these same organizations for a donation (no sense duplicating efforts). For a complete list of the sponsors that currently contribute to The Lemon Bowl, click here.
Other ways that you can fundraise is to sell special items and Lemon Bowl branded merchandise, including:
1. Lemon Bowl Sweatshirts
2. Lemon Bowl T-Shirts
3. Lemon Bowl Magnets
4. Raffle Tickets, 50/50 Tickets, and Unlimited Lemonade Bracelets (these take place at the Lemon Bowl)
5. SaveAround Coupon Books (in Bucks and Montgomery PA areas only)
And finally and probably the best fundraising option of them all is to hold your own ALSF Lemonade Stand. Pick a date, time and location; register your stand with ALSF; set up your stand – full of Country Time Lemonade of course – and GO FOR IT! Be sure to promote your stand through the ALSF website and any social networking sites you might subscribe to. Use a table, build your own stand or if you are local to the Chalfont, PA area and want to borrow our stand, send an email to email@example.com.
About ALSF and your donation
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is dedicated to realizing Alex's dream of eradicating childhood cancer. Our mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) shares the vision of our founder and creator, Alexandra “Alex” Scott—a cure for all children with cancer.
We are unique in our grant-making approach, having donated millions of dollars to support life-saving childhood cancer research. With careful consideration and consultation with leading researchers across the country, we have developed our grant program to make the biggest impact possible. Our smart spending of your donations has translated into innovative breakthroughs, more access to new treatments, and a dramatic change in the landscape of pediatric cancer. All this leads to one very important change for children and their families -- hope for new and improved treatments!
We care about the quality of life for childhood cancer patients and their families: In addition to funding cutting-edge research and making new treatments available to children with cancer, we are one of the only national charities that funds pediatric oncology nursing research and grants, designed to improve the quality of life and care as children battle cancer.
We help provide resources for families battling cancer now: Through the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Travel For Care Program, funded with support from TD Bank and Northwestern Mutual, we provide families with lodging and travel expenses up front, rather than requiring them to apply for reimbursement. Additionally, our annual Childhood Cancer Symposium is free and open to all families whose children battle cancer, at all stages of childhood cancer treatment.
