The prognosis for cure from retinoblastoma that is confined to the retina (Groups A and B) is excellent (more than 95%). In less developed countries where diagnosis and treatment of retinoblastoma are often delayed, metastatic disease is common and survival rates are lower. Vision in the affected eye may be saved depending on the extent of the disease at the time of diagnosis.
