I thought it would be a good idea to teach my son to give of himself for those who were going through tough times, challenges and trials. Some of our kids do not realize how much they have to be thankful for and get caught up in their frineds, video games, and so on. There is nothing wrong with those things, but they need to learn to give of themselves for others in a time of need. We did our stand July 4th weekend at the local park a couple of hours before the fireworks, we did not make much, but it was a start. We are going to do a stand again during the town flea market in front of our house. This usually takes place at the end of the summer. Should we discover another opportunity to do it between now and then, we will. We have the banners, the book and etc... left. We will probably get more lemons for names etc... and balloons? My husband bought some extra giv-aways... It was a family effort, and even my husband got in on it, and had everything ready to go when I got home from work. I am in retail, and had to work that day until 4 p.m.
