A beloved friend of mine is going through a very hard time. Her beautiful daughter was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma when she was 4. After many surgeries and chemo treatments, she beat it! However, after being in remission for 17 months, the cancer is back at the age of 6. Before seeing my friend and her baby girl go through all this, I didn't know anything about childhood cancer. The prognosis is scary, and it hits hard when it affects a family who has been there so much for me and my own. Since I don't have the means to donate much on my own, I am starting a "Sponsor-A-Hat" promotion. For every $10.00 donated, I will donate a hat I have crocheted to a local NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) for the little ones that need some extra warmth. "Local" being in Austin, TX. As long as the donations keep coming in, I will continue to make and donate hats. If we fill all the NICUs in Austin then I will start donating to NICUs in other cities.
