Dear Bucks County Residents, Friends & Business Owners,
Newtown Business Association and our generous Newtown retailers have decided they are going to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer!
It is easy for you to be part of our community fundraising efforts. We hope that you will join us at Newtown Welcome Day festivities where we will host our first annual Alex's Lemonade Stand event from 11a-4p. With an expected turnout of over 12K people we are confident that we can raise much needed funding to continue the fight against childhood cancer. It is scheduled to be a extravagant and fun filled day including lots of entertainment, craft & jewelry vendors and delicious food court delicacies. In addition, we have fabulous "Best of Newtown" themed baskets (each a $100+ value) featuring fine dining, casual dining, health & fitness, and kids interests. In the event you are unable to attend, please support ALSF by making an online donation. It is easy and secure,
A former Council Rock student, Sean Baron, offers us personal motivation for helping to raise critical funding for childhood cancer research. When Sean was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2007 his family was devastated. Sean underwent multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and intensive rehab to regain normal walking ability. Sean and his family are grateful for his continuing good health due to advances in research and medicine over the last 30 years. Sean is now a junior at Carnegie Mellon University thanks to successful treatment for his disease.
Raising money is a powerful way of fighting cancer and a simple way everyone can help. With Newtown's support, together we can be part of eradicating childhood cancer for good. You can learn more about the grants that have already made a difference in the lives of children with cancer by visiting www.alexslemonade.org.
Your contribution can make Lemonade Days 2013 (nationwide June 7th- 9th) become a milestone year.
With sincere appreciation for your generosity & support!
