We are so excited to run this year’s Philadelphia Half Marathon as part of Team Lemon and to honor the memory of an amazing person, Max Levine.
At the age of 10 Max was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a very rare form of childhood cancer. The news of his diagnosis hit us all hard.
Max fought bravely against his cancer and even went into remission for a little bit, but soon relapsed. Since there is no cure for Neuroblastoma and no set treatment course Max relied on experimental treatments and trials to help him fight his disease. These treatments were possible because of the work of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).
Max lost his battle in April of 2008, at the age of 17. Throughout his illness, he remained an amazing person, a great friend to us and so many others, and a wonderful son and brother to his family. The impact that he had on our lives and our community, both personally and as a spokesperson for ALSF, cannot be measured. We miss him every day.
And so, in Max’s memory, we want to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation find a way to help other children and their families who are still fighting their battles with cancer – and those whose fight has not yet begun.
Thank you so much for supporting us as we honor Max and for helping ALSF continue to fund groundbreaking research and find a cure for childhood cancers.
Once you click to donate, you will see an option to restrict your donation to a specific fund. Help us honor Max by choosing the “M & M Fund”, a special fund directed toward research into high risk pediatric cancers created in memory of Max and his best friend Matt, who passed away from Leukemia just a year after Max.
Thank you for your support!
