Premier Research is proud to announce that we will be once again participating in “National Lemonade Days”, a fundraising event raising money and awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), and pediatric cancer.
Last year, Premier Research employees throughout the United States sold lemonade on the streets of their local offices and raised more than $3,000. This year, on Friday, June 6th, will be hitting the streets to sell even more.
Our involvement with Alex’s Lemonade Stand remains very appropriate considering the extraordinary depth of experience, insight and compassion Premier brings to pediatric clinical research.
Premier Research has acquired extensive—and diverse—pediatric expertise during our six years as the sole Coordinating Center for the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA). Working with the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) within the NIH, our mission was to obtain pediatric labeling for high-priority off-patent medications. Our experience encompasses PICUs, NICUs, clinics, ERs and outpatient settings, and the recruitment and retention of neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. We also established close relationships with specialists at many of the 180 North American children’s hospitals. Overall, our pediatricians and pediatric specialists have conducted nearly 100 trials and consulting projects
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, ALSF has raised over $75 million for childhood cancer, and has funded more than 375 research projects at 74 institutions.
