Putting the Squeeze on Pediatric Cancer is our effort to raise awareness and to help fund the research needed to better understand causes, improve treatments and find cures of childhood cancer with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. This is simply paying it forward, as our team includes 5 year old Macy, who is currently in treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.).  Macy is receiving treatment based on research, giving her a better chance at beating cancer with a shorter time of treatment. Ten years ago,  the treatment duration for A.L.L. was five years, today on average it is three years. Research is getting close to having medications target the specific cancer cells and not the healthy cells. This is great news in that kids can get back to being kids, and not having to undergo long yucky treatments. That's just one of the breakthroughs researchers are on the verge of. We want to keep the ball rolling forward, because there is still a great need for improvement and so much left to do.
