Welcome to Kristin's Million Mile page! This September 2014, I will be running throughout the month to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Thank you for your help in raising money that supports childhood cancer research! Since moving back to Illinois in 2012, I have looked for ways to support childhood cancer research. I participated in Dance Marathon for three years while I attended the University of Iowa from 2005-2009. At this event, I danced for twenty-four hours after raising money to support the local children's hospital. This event and some special people that I have met since then truly made a difference in my life. In June 2014, I saw a news segment on the TODAY show about Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alex's story about starting a lemonade stand and later raising more than one-million dollars for childhood cancer research amazed me. Her story and my experience with the University of Iowa Dance Marathon inspires me to make a difference. I look forward to running in September for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and making a difference in childhood cancer research!
