On Saturday September 20th, Mt Zion Baptist Church will be having a "Bringing Awareness to Childhood Cancer" festival from 11am until 3pm. We are partnering with Alex's Lemonade Stand to be certain that the funds donated and raised will be used towards this important research! Our goal is $5,000.00. We will be collecting money the entire month of September. We at Mt Zion are taking a stand for kids in honor of our friends Cassidy Russell and Mario Nicholas. At 12 years old Cassidy has defeated cancer - TWICE. Having a child with cancer is one of the most painful and difficult situations a family can face. One in 330 children will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they turn 20. Despite this, less than 5% of the federal government’s total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year. This is why your support is so important. IT may not be your child today, but it could be tomorrow! Come on out and enjoy a free day of fun with your child and consider donating (any amount helps) to help a child fighting cancer!
